A distinguished reporter from NPR will visit Evansville in January.
National Political Correspondent Don Gonyea will be the guest speaker at WNIN’s 17th Annual Gala.
Gonyea started working for NPR 30 years ago, reporting from Detroit on labor unions and the automobile industry.
He earned the network a Peabody Award in 2000 for his All Things Considered series “Lost and Found Sound.”
Gonyea became NPR’s national political correspondent at the beginning of the George W. Bush administration in 2001. He also reported from the White House as it was being evacuated during the 9-11 Attacks.
Gonyea’s speech at the WNIN Gala will come just one week after Inauguration Day in Washington DC.
The gala is set for January 28th at the Evansville Museum. It was also include a dinner, a live auction, and a silent auction.
