Police have arrested an Evansville woman accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend.
Police responded to a report of shots fired Tuesday morning at 1808 Plantation Court, and discovered the body of 27-year-old Stedman Baird.
Officers said Baird appeared to have been shot in the head.
A news release from the EPD says a woman identified as 25-year-old Chauna Reed approached the apartment and spoke with officers about the shooting.
Reed was then taken to police headquarters to be interviewed.
During the interview, police say Reed made “incriminating statements” that led to her arrest.
Back at the home, police say they found illegal narcotics, digital scales, and two handguns.
Reed faces preliminary charges including murder and dealing in methamphetamine.
