I-64 crash kills two

Two people are dead following a crash on Interstate 64 in Spencer County.

Indiana State Police say 19-year-old Zachary Henry was driving a car eastbound on the highway just before 10:00 Monday night, when he suddenly came upon an SUV stopped in the roadway.

Police say Henry was unable to stop or avoid the vehicle, crashed into it, and pushed the SUV down an embankment and onto its roof.

The Spencer County Coroner pronounced the two occupants of the SUV --  identified only as from Virginia -- dead at the scene.

Henry – identified only as a Kentucky resident -- was treated for minor injuries.

State police say in a news release that accident reconstructionists are still investigating.
