Former Knox Co. official accused of embezzling

A former Knox County official is accused of embezzling more than $100,000 over five years.

Police arrested former Solid Waste Director Tracy Clinkenbeard of Vincennes, following an eleven-month investigation by Indiana State Police and the State Board of Accounts.

A news release from state police says the probe revealed the 51-year-old Clinkenbeard embezzled the money between 2010 and 2015.

As director, she was responsible for all financial matters in the Solid Waste office.

Police say officers arrested Clickenbeard at her home without incident. She faces five preliminary counts of theft.

Clickenbeard is being held in the Knox County jail on a $15,000 cash only bond.
