Wreck on Hwy 41 kills one, injures four others

Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office

One person is dead and four others are injured after a crash on Highway 41.

It happened at about 4:45 Sunday afternoon at the intersection of 41 and Hillsdale Road, killing 73-year-old Robert Turner of Huntingburg.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says in a news release that a car driven by 19-year-old Bailey Crowell of Evansville pulled into the path of Turner’s SUV.

The collision caused Turner’s vehicle to overturn several times before hitting another SUV, driven by 40-year-old John Bringman Jr. of Evansville.

Turner died at the scene, and three passengers in his SUV were taken to a hospital.

Crowell was also sent to a hospital.

The sheriff’s office says the investigation remains open, pending a full crash reconstruction and toxicology results.
