Democrat David Orentlicher has dropped out of the 8th District Congressional race.
A letter sent to WNIN News Friday afternoon confirms that Orentlicher has asked that a recount of his primary race with Ron Drake be suspended. That leaves Drake as the Democratic nominee to face Republican incumbent Larry Bucshon for the 8th District in the November election.
