An Evansville teacher is jailed on preliminary charges of Child Seduction.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says deputies have arrested Evansville Lutheran School teacher David Robert Burant.
A news release from the sheriff’s office says the parent of a 14-year-old girl reported observing inappropriate text messages on the girl’s cell phone.
Upon further investigation, police say they found “numerous instances of sexually explicit material” on the phone, including graphic and sexual depictions of both Burant and the girl.
The sheriff’s office says Burant was interviewed Wednesday and implicated himself in the texts messages that started in May.
Burant is being held without bond in the Vanderburgh County jail.
