Police still asking for tips on Beckerle

The Evansville Police Department is still asking for the community’s help in finding Aleah Beckerle.

The young, severely disabled woman has been missing for more than two weeks now, after being removed from her home on E. Iowa St. in Evansville.

In a statement, police are urging anyone with information -- no matter how small it may seem – to call the EPD at 812-436-7979 or the anonymous We Tip line at 1-800-78-CRIME.

A task force was set-up shortly after the 19-year-old disappeared, assisted by members of the Evansville Police Department, Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, the FBI, the U.S. Marshal's Office, Ohio Valley Search and Rescue, and the Texas-based group EquuSearch.

Police say numerous tips have been provided to the task force and every tip has been investigated, but Beckerle is still missing.

EquuSearch coordinated a large-scale search last weekend, which turned up the body of a homeless man, 49-year-old Larry Thomas of Harrisburg, Illinois.

The coroner’s office has ruled Thomas’ death a suicide.
