McConnell visits Henderson

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell visited Henderson Tuesday to criticize the Obama administration and to celebrate the expansion of an industrial park. 

The Republican Kentucky Senator told a joint meeting of the Henderson Lions and Rotary Clubs that economic growth under the Obama Administration has been less than three-percent per year.

McConnell also says the administration has been determined to put the coal industry out of business.

He blames what he calls a “regulatory rampage” in areas like health care, financial services, and environmental protection.

More than 14 million jobs have been created during the Obama Administration and the jobless rate has dropped below five percent.

But McConnell says he supports Donald Trump for president. He says if want more of the past eight yearsm vote for Hillary Clinton.

McConnell didn’t mention Trump by name until an audience member asked him who he endorsed in the presidential race.

After the meeting, McConnell helped celebrate an expansion of Henderson’s industrial park on Borax Drive.
