One lane of the Lloyd Expressway bridge over Pigeon Creek is closed until further notice, after at least two cracks developed.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has closed the right lane of the eastbound bridge, where two cracks are visible in the side wall and sidewalk.
A news release from INDOT says the bridge’s bearing pads under the span have moved, and need to be reset and stabilized.
The agency says the problem doesn’t compromise the overall safety of the bridge, but it does require repairs and a lane closure until the work is done.
There’s no timeline for the work, but INDOT says it could take several weeks.
