Midget Links on the market

John Gibson

One of the oldest miniature golf courses in the U.S. is beginning its 70th summer in Evansville, but it could be the last.

Midget Links opened in 1947 on Morgan Avenue, just off Highway 41, where people of all ages play “vintage miniature golf” with colorful windmills, wishing wells, loops, waterfalls, and drawbridges.

Owner Paul Dayton tells WNIN that he started playing the course in 1970, long before the days of entertainment options like home video and the internet. He says parents bring their kids, grandparents bring their kids, and they still have "a lot of fun out here."

Dayton has owned the historic attraction since 1998, but says he’s ready to sell

Dayton says none of his children are interested in taking over the business, and he and his wife want to move on to the next chapter of their lives.

The Midget Links property lists for about $190,000.
