Toyota to mark 20th anniversary

Toyota Indiana will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Wednesday.  In a release Monday, the company says their Princeton operation has produced 4.3 million vehicles since it opened in 1996, including Tundras, Siennas, Sequoias and Highlanders.

I noting the milestone, TMMI president Norm Bafunno says, “That’s a lot of vehicles, but the real story is the people making them.”

Toyota says Princeton employees have so far donated 265,000 volunteer hours on community projects, and the company has donated $23 million to area organizations.

A celebration is planned for Wednesday afternoon at the visitor’s center at the Princeton plant.
