This time next year, a two year construction project on U.S. 41 will be underway. The $25 million project will repair roads and bridges between Evansville and Henderson, the Indiana Department of Transportation said in a press release.
Construction will be done in phases, beginning at the Twin Bridges and extending north, INDOT spokesperson Jason Tiller said. The road work will span from the Twin Bridges to I-69 and is scheduled from spring 2017 to summer 2019.
The south-bound Twin Bridge will be temporarily closed, rerouting all traffic between Evansville and
Henderson to the north-bound bridge.
Work on the Twin Bridges will be the first part of the project and should be finished quickly, Tiller said.
There will be two lanes of traffic at all times, he said, and any delays aren't foreseen to drastically affect commuter time.
INDOT will be taking public comment at informational meetings next week. The meetings will be Tuesday May 24 at Bosse High School and Wednesday May 25 at Henderson County High School. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the presentation is scheduled to begin at 6.
