Eric Eifert is the 35th winner of the annual award.

He's also recognized for his volunteer work with Easter Seals, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Habitat for Humanity, and the annual Christmas party organized by Firefighters Local 357.

Eifert is also a member of the Firefighters' Pipe and Drum Corps and plays for the firefighters in the Guns & Hoses hockey series.

Eric and his wife Christa have two young children.

He was one of five nominees for this year's award. The other nominees were: Beth Csukas, Matt Garnett, Jonathan Sprinkle, and Chris Wagener.
