Local law enforcement officials have announced a new Driving Enforcement Blitz.

Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Lt. Noah Robinson says March is a busy month for celebrating, with spring breaks, St. Patrick's Day, and basketball tournaments.

Robinson says your plans should always include a designated driver.

He spoke before students at Mater Dei High School, and urged them to driver safely. Robinson reminded the students that underage persons can be arrested with a blood-alcohol level as low as .02 percent.

Federal funding will pay for overtime enforcement by the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Traffic Safety Partnership, which includes the sheriff’s office, Evansville Police, and Indiana State Police.
