The University of Evansville is launching programs designed to recruit and retain teachers. WNIN's John Gibson has details...
The university's school of education says in a news release that the goal of the Teacher Recruitment and Retention program is to help meet the increasing demand for effective teachers in K-through-12 schools.
UE says the multi-strategy approach includes a teaching fellows program, a transition to teaching program, a degree pathway collaboration with Ivy Tech, and a novice teacher induction and mentoring program.
University President Thomas Kazee (kuh-ZEE) says the effort will be a “great benefit to the community as well as to the University of Evansville."
Recruitment efforts are underway for the summer and fall semesters at UE.
