Downtown Master Plan focuses on 4th and Main park
A new Master Plan for Downtown Evansville includes the renovation of a Main Street park, establishing more downtown districts, and improvements to the riverfront. WNIN's John Gibson has details...
Brad Segal of Progressive Urban Management Associates delivered a progress report on the master plan to the Evansville Redevelopment Commission.
He tells WNIN that the plan calls for transforming the so-called “Astroturf” park at 4th and Main streets to a town square, with real grass.
Segal also says his firm visited Owensboro to check out that city’s riverfront. He says some, but not all, of Owensboro's fixtures would work in Evansville.
Segal says Evansville is one of the largest U.S. cities without a private downtown alliance. He says such a group is crucial to help fund downtown improvements.
