Bronstein Foundation donates $2 million to IU School of Medicine

A $2 million dollar gift will establish a chair in geriatric medicine at the yet-to-be-built IU School of Medicine in Downtown Evansville.

The Sol and Arlene Bronstein Foundation is donating the money. Trustee and Judge Wayne Trockman told a gathering at Old National Bank the Bronsteins were dedicated to health care.

IU Med School Director Dr. Steven Becker says the donation will have a lasting impact. Income from the chair will be matched every year in perpetuity, increasing support for geriatric research and education.

The Bronsteins were successful in the oil business, and operated Red Bird gas stations. They also set in motion what would become the Communities of Solarbron.
