I-69 wrong way crash kills 2

Authorities have identified the two victims of a deadly wrong-way crash on I-69.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office says 32-year-old Shania Carter of Evansville and 36-year-old Christopher Goolsby of Henderson died in the head-on crash late Thursday night, south of Boonville-New Harmony Road.

The sheriff’s office says in a news release that Central Dispatch received a report of a wrong-way driver on I-69 about one minute before the crash was reported.

Both Carter and Goolsby were trapped in their vehicles and died at the scene.

There’s no word yet on why one of the vehicles was traveling in the wrong direction.
