WGS bringing jobs to Perry Co.

A Michigan-based manufacturing service provider has announced plans to establish a production facility in Perry County.

WGS Global Services says it will invest nearly $7 million to lease and equip a plant in Troy and add up to 100 jobs by 2019.

WGS provides cleaning, assembly and processing services for manufacturers. It already has two operations in Tell City, as well as facilities in Michigan, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

The company tells Inside Indiana Business that the new facility will allow it to boost manufacturing and logistics services to the defense, automotive, and commercial manufacturing industries.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has offered WGS up to $400,000 in conditional tax credits, based on the job creation plans. The town of Troy will consider additional incentives.
