Two Posey Schools win Blue Ribbons

Two elementary schools in Posey County have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools.

Farmersville Elementary and North Elementary are among just ten Indiana schools to receive the recognition from the U.S. Department of Education.

A news release from Governor Pence’s office congratulates the schools, their teachers, and their administrators.

Pence says they’ve done “tremendous work” in ensuring that kids get the education they deserve.

Farmersville is part of the Mount Vernon school district and North is part of the North Posey district.

They will be honored during a ceremony in Washington D.C. next month along with 283 public schools and 50 private schools from across the U.S. that achieved the blue ribbon designation.
