Marveline Prince wins Albion Award

An Evansville civil rights leader has won the 2015 Albion Fellows Bacon Award.

Marveline Prince accepted the award during an Equality Day luncheon at Old National Events Plaza.

Her activism dates back to the late 1960’s. Bacon worked for public housing, women’s rights, and other issues in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Chief Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court Loretta Rush delivered the keynote address at the Equality Day luncheon. She’s the first woman to serve on the state’s Supreme Court.
