Tropicana Evansville has hired a new general manager.
John Chaszar replaces Jason Gregorec, who left Evansville in May for a job with Rock Gaming LLC in Detroit.
A news release from Tropicana says Chaszar has served as GM for Hollywood Casino properties in Louisiana and Michigan. He’s also held management roles at Hilton Hotels.
Tropicana President and CEO Tony Rodio says Chaszar brings “a proven track record in casino hotel management and strong leadership to his new role at Tropicana.”
Rodio says Chaszar also has an impressive background in community involvement and outreach. He’s a graduate of Michigan State University.
Chaszar takes the reins during what could be a major move for the casino. The state legislature is allowing Tropicana and other Indiana riverboat casinos to move off the water and onto land within their existing footprint.
