Casino revenue down statewide, but up in Evv and French Lick

Casino revenue was down a bit across Indiana last month, but Tropicana Evansville and French Lick both reported increases.

The Indiana Gaming Commission says Tropicana Evansville brought in $9.5 million in June, up from $9.37 million during the same month last year.

French Lick Casino earned $6 million last month, compared to 5.4 million a year earlier.

Despite the revenue increase, attendance was down more than 1,000 people at Tropicana this June, while French Lick’s attendance was up a bit.

The biggest revenue increase in the state was reported by Belterra Casino in Florence – between Louisville and Cincinnati.

The two biggest drops were recorded by Horseshoe Casino in Hammond and Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg.

Overall, revenue at Indiana’s 13 casinos and race tracks was $174.5 million in June, down $1.2 million from a year ago.

Evansville and Vanderburgh County use riverboat revenue for capital improvements, roads, and public safety.
