Motorists are dealing with a major detour on Evansville’s North Side.
Diamond Avenue is closed between Kentucky Avenue and Business 41, as crews work on a railroad overpass just west of 41.
CSX says Diamond will be closed in that area 24-7, for about a week.
INDOT is urging truck traffic to use other state and federal highways as a detour.
Smaller cars and trucks have been using Maxwell Avenue between Kentucky and Fares, Columbia between Stringtown and Fares, and Virginia between Governor and Fares.
Local traffic still has access to businesses on either side of the overpass on Diamond.
