Vanderburgh County is one of five Indiana counties chosen for the state’s new On My Way Pre-K program, and local officials are urging families to sign-up.
Jennifer Drake is President and CEO of Four-C of Southern Indiana, which is coordinating the pre-k program in Southwest Indiana.
She says On My Way is flexible. It can provide services at home, at a child care center, as part of a ministry, or private pre-schools.
The Southwest Indiana Business Leaders Roundtable on Early Childhood is providing money for the program through a public-private partnership.
It includes gifts from Old National Bank, Vectren, Welborn Baptist Foundation, United Companies, St. Mary’s Health, and Deaconess Health System.
