Work to restrict Twin Bridges

Lane restrictions are coming to the Twin Bridges next week.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced plans to restrict traffic to one lane each way on the Highway 41 bridges between Evansville and Henderson on Monday.

A news release from the agency says traffic on both northbound and southbound spans will be restricted to the left lane from 8:30 in the morning until 3:30 in the afternoon.

A survey crew will be gathering information for redesigning and replacing navigation lights on the bridges. The work will require climbers to be on the superstructures throughout the day Monday, weather permitting.

Officials urge drivers to slow down and be cautious while the workers are on the bridges.

The Transportation Cabinet says about 37,000 vehicles cross the Twin Bridges each day.
