State Representative Gail Riecken says she’s encouraged by comments from Governor Pence and the Department of Child Services in support of hiring more caseworkers.
The Evansville Democrat says there’s a shortage of DCS workers who help abused and neglected children.
Riecken warns in a news release that many twists and turns remain as the General Assembly works towards a two-year budget by the end of April. She says it’s important to “remain diligent” to make sure the additional caseworkers are in the final budget.
