The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation has wrapped up its outreach on how to make up snow days.
EVSC Spokeswoman Marsha Jackson tells WNIN that the corporation surveyed parents, teachers, and staff about how to make up four days lost to winter weather, beyond the three days that have been inserted to the school calendar.
Options include holding classes on four Saturdays before the school year is out, adding four days past Memorial Day, taking away four days of spring break, or using online “virtual” make-up days.
That final option would require state approval.
Jackson says the surveys will be just one factor in the final decision, which will be made by the school board at its meeting on Monday.
Jackson says school officials realize that no matter how the days are made up, it will affect everyone.
