Wild weather week expected

The month of March looks to be coming in like a lion with freezing rain, heavy rain, thunderstorms, sleet, and snow all in the forecast during the next 48 hours.

Tuesday should be a spring-like day with rain, thunderstorms, and temperatures reaching the 50’s.

But by Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service says much colder air will move in and the precipitation will turn to sleet and snow with “potentially significant accumulations.”

Models are showing up to five inches of snow for the Evansville area, but a more precise prediction will be made as the storm gets closer.

In the meantime, heavy rain predicted for Tuesday and Tuesday night could make pre-treating roads ineffective.
