The Evansville Redevelopment Commission has approved obtaining construction drawings for the North Main Street improvement project.
Metro Development Director Kelly Coures tells WNIN News that the drawings will include what he calls the “complete project:” sidewalk and streetscape improvements, a protected bicycle path, off-street parking lots on North Main, and a bike path along Virginia Street from Main to First Avenue.
When the drawings are complete, the Redevelopment Commission will seek construction bids for the project, which is expected to cost about $13 million.
The city hopes to develop a similar project along Walnut Street between UE and Downtown.
