United Airlines coming to EVV

United Airlines will soon be flying in-and-out of Evansville Regional Airport.

Airport officials say the airline will offer three daily flights to Chicago’s O’Hare International, in addition to four flights already offered by American Airlines.

Evansville Regional’s Marketing Director Dianna Page tells the news media – including WNIN – that a 6.6 percent increase in boardings last year caught the attention of United, which will offer 79 unique connections out of Chicago – including numerous international destinations.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke calls the new service a “great boost” to the local economy. He says business leaders frequently tell him the city needs more air service.

Airport officials say United could eventually add another hub to its Evansville schedule – possibly Houston – but it can only happen if enough people use the Chicago service.

Evansville Regional offers daily flights to Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, and Detroit.
