Police have arrested an Evansville woman accused of starting a house fire that displaced three families.
48-year-old Tracy Felker is being held on a preliminary charge of arson, following Monday’s fire at a multi-unit house at 311 E. Columbia St.
No one was injured in the blaze, which also damaged the siding of a house next door.
Landlord David Windau told the Courier and Press that he went to the building earlier on Monday to repair a window, and Felker threw a television at him. Windau told police that Felker also threatened to burn the house down.
Windau said he attempt to evict Felker, but a judge would not grant an emergency order to do so.
Fire department investigators determined the blaze was intentionally set inside Felker’s apartment.
