A retired school principal has died in a traffic crash in Spencer County.
Authorities say 60-year-old Susan Grundhoefer died in the crash at State Road 62 and U.S. 231, near Dale, Sunday afternoon.
They say she was driving a pickup truck on 62 and failed to yield to traffic on 231, and was hit by an SUV. The impact pushed Grundhoefer’s truck onto its top, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
There’s no word on the name or condition of the other driver.
Grundhoefer retired as principal of Heritage Hills Middle School in 2012. She recently worked for the Southern Indiana Education Center.
