A merger has been announced that will affect two Indiana casinos.
Caesars Entertainment and Caesars Acquisition have agreed to merge in an all-stock transaction.
The planned merger includes the Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino, across the Ohio River from Louisville and the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond.
The deal doesn’t directly affect the Tropicana Casino in Evansville, but the Horseshoe Southern Indiana is one of its closest competitors.
A news release from Caesars says the merger will create one of the largest gaming and entertainment companies in the world, with a combined cash balance of $1.7 billion.
