The Evansville Redevelopment Commission has approved a land deal with a church to make way for new parking on North Main Street.
Apostolic Church at Main and Delaware agreed to sell property to the city for parking, as part of a planned streetscape project.
Metro Development Director Kelly Coures says the next step is completion of design documents. Then, the project goes to the city council for funding.
The $10 million plan includes new sidewalks, a bike path, and off-street parking on the west side of North Main. On-street parking will be removed from the west side of the street.
