Mead Johnson investing $35 million in Evansville

An infant formula company that’s called Evansville home for 99 years is boosting its local commitment.

Mead Johnson has announced a $35 million expansion of its production capacity and capabilities at its West Side facility. Company senior vice president Jeff Jobe says Mead Johnson considered other sites, before deciding on Evansville. He calls Evansville a “key manufacturing location” for the company.

The move will create 18 highly skilled, high-paying jobs. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2017.

Mead Johnson produces infant formula, including the popular Enfamil brand.
