The Vanderburgh County Sheriff says President Obama was in no danger when he visited southwest Indiana last Friday.
Sheriff Dave Wedding tells WNIN News that some local bloggers “bashed” the president, but that’s to be expected. He does say one person’s words required closer attention. They kept an eye out for the man, but he says the event went off "without a hitch."
Wedding says his deputies, Evansville Police, and other agencies helped keep Obama's motorcade safe between Evansville Regional Airport and the Millennium Steel plant near Princeton.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Jason Allen says more than 200 officers assisted the Secret Service.
