President Barack Obama is scheduled to visit Southwest Indiana Friday, to talk about jobs and the economy.
WNIN-FM will have comprehensive team coverage of the historic event, with reporters at Evansville Regional Airport for the arrival and departure, and at Millennium Steel Service in Princeton for the President's visit and remarks.
Cass Herrington spent the day Thursday in the area, and will have reaction from residents to what may be the first-ever visit by a sitting President to Gibson County.
We'll start our coverage during Morning Edition Friday, with reports and features on what the visit means to a diverse group of people. Then, during a special Trend at noon, we'll have guests discussing the history of Presidential visits, comments from many groups in Gibson County and the views of ordinary citizens. We'll finish the program with live reports on the arrival of Air Force One.
We will carry President Obama's remarks live from Millennium Steel, and then follow the progress of the motorcade back to Evansville Regional Airport. Veteran journalist John Gibson anchors our coverage, with Cass Herrington in Princeton.
Join us starting at 6am central time for a full day of coverage, from your local radio news source, WNIN-FM.
