The Evansville Vanderburgh School Board has approved a budget for 2015.
The slightly more than $235 million spending plan includes a two-percent raise for all school corporation employees.
The EVSC’s general fund totals nearly $154 million, with most of it to pay employee salaries and benefits.
The new balanced budget doesn’t assume any carry-forward revenues from the previous school year. Superintendent David Smith tells the Evansville Courier and Press that it’s taken five years to adjust expenditure levels, so the school district does not use those funds.
The 2015 budget assumes enrollment projections to reflect 2013-14 levels. And it’s assumed that full-day kindergarten will be included in grant distribution.
