Museum names new director

The Evansville Museum of Arts, History, and Science has chosen a new leader.

The museum’s board of directors has hired Bryan Knicely to lead the facility.

The 45-year-old Knicely comes to Evansville after serving as executive director of the Coral Springs Museum of Art in Florida, where Congressman Ted Deutch nominated him for the 2015 National Medal for Museum Service.

The Ohio native will start his duties at the Evansville Museum in mid-October, more than a year and a half after long-time director John Streetman stepped down.

The museum’s curator of collections, Mary Bower, has been serving as interim director.
