A new contest is offering restaurant owners and entrepreneurs a chance to win $250,000 in cash and other resources to open a new restaurant in Downtown Evansville.
Officials hope the Main Course Restaurant Challenge will lead to a new eatery at Fourth and Main streets – the former site of Rogers Jewelers, which has been vacant for years.
Joshua Armstrong is Downtown Alliance Director at the Southwest Indiana Chamber. He tells WNIN News that business leaders contributed the quarter-million. And while it will likely cost more to open the restaurant, Armstrong says the winner will have the advantage of corporate cheerleaders who donated the money.
Interested persons can enter the contest at Main Course Challenge dot-com. The winner must open the new restaurant no later than September 1st, 2015.
