The University of Southern Indiana’s Board of Trustees has approved a $105 million operating budget for the 2014-2015 academic year, including a nearly $6 million contract for a new conference center on the campus.
The board awarded the construction contract to Empire Contractors. A groundbreaking for the center overlooking Reflection Lake is set for July 21st.
A news release from the university says the board also chose Jeffrey Knight as next chair of the USI Board of Trustees. Other board-elected officers for the coming year are Harold Calloway, Ira Boots, and Amy MacDonell.
USI enrolls nearly 10,000 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in 80 majors.
