You have an opportunity to help Evansville become a friendlier city for bicyclists and pedestrians.
The City of Evansville says it’s updating the existing Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan, with a new plan to be completed early next year.
Officials will introduce the project, distribute surveys, and listen to comments during a Traveling City Hall meeting at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Cherry Street, Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00.
The Master Plan Steering Committee will also take part in a bicycling and walking tour of some of Evansville’s existing facilities, including the Pigeon Creek Greenway, Thursday morning at 10:00.
Consultants are planning a “public input visioning session” on July 10th, at a time and location to be determined.
A news release from Mayor Winnecke’s office says improvements could include on-street bicycle facilities, greenway and trail projects, sidewalk work, and education and safety programs.
