An inevitable question about the planned IU medical and research complex in Downtown Evansville is where will 2,000 students and faculty park?
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke says the city will tweak the convention hotel plan to add more parking for the nearby med school.
Some students may not need a parking spot. They told IU trustees they wanted a site that’s “walkable.”
The med school project carries a price tag of nearly $70 million, and officials will be looking for funding from both the city and the state.
Construction is expected to start next year, with the school opening in late summer 2017.
