Population up in Vanderburgh, Warrick

The population of Vanderburgh County continued to rise slowly in 2013, while Warrick County’s population climbed at a faster rate. 

New estimates from the Census Bureau indicate Vanderburgh’s population – including the city of Evansville – topped 181,000, up almost one percent in three years.

The Bureau says Warrick County’s population has climbed above 61,000, up a significant 2.3 percent from 2010. Posey County’s head-count continues to fall. The latest figure is 25,456, down 1.6 percent since the 2010 census. Gibson County’s population continues to rise slowly at 33,612, up .3 percent from 2010.

Statewide, Indiana’s population has topped 6.5 million. That’s up almost one percent from the 2010 census.
