Indiana Democratic legislative leaders say they – and the public – aren’t getting enough answers from Gov. Eric Holcomb about the state’s response to the coronavirus.
That’s as GOP leaders express confidence in Holcomb.
As other governors have, for instance, restricted large gatherings in response to coronavirus, Holcomb has been largely silent. Senate Democratic Leader Tim Lanane (D-Anderson) says that won’t work in the midst of a public health crisis.
“The clearer it can be made as to here’s what we’re doing as a state, here’s how you should react as a citizen to this, the better off we’re going to be,” Lanane says.

Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) says the Holcomb administration assured lawmakers it has all the tools it needs to address the issue.
“I know the governor is taking it extremely seriously," Bray says. "It’s the most important thing he’s been dealing with in the last few days I would guess and it will continue to be.”
Holcomb’s office says the governor is convening experts, meeting with his cabinet and keeping Hoosiers informed via in-person events and social media.
