ACA Open Enrollment Extended Until Early Wednesday

The open enrollment period for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act has been extended. Hoosiers now have until 3 a.m. Wednesday to sign up.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services extended the original Sunday deadline after reports of technical glitches.

In a statement, CMS said more than 500,000 people attempted to enroll Sunday. Some were asked to leave contact information with the call center. Those who already left their information do not need to reapply during the extension. CMS says a representative will reach out later this week.

About 150,000 Hoosiers get insurance through the marketplace, down from a peak of more than 218,000 in 2015.
