Indiana’s 200th birthday is still two years away, but communities are already working on “legacy projects.”
The Indiana Bicentennial Commission has endorsed a number of projects, including a new trail honoring Abraham Lincoln in Spencer County and an Indiana poetry book engaging all 92 Indiana counties.
The commission says in a news release that legacy projects must meet at least one of four goals or characteristics: celebratory, culturally inclusive, a legacy for the future, or something that engages youth and young adults.
