Gun Allowance Proposal Advances to the Full House

A bill now being advanced to the full House has been endorsed by an Indiana legislative committee.

The proposal being endorsed allows guns in school parking lots. The bill, approved by the House Public Policy Committee on Tuesday added the school gun provision to a bill that would prohibit local governments from using taxpayer money for gun buy- back programs.

According to the Evansville Courier and Press this addition would allow guns to be locked and out of sight in a car in a school parking lot even though currently bringing a gun on school property is a felony.

The provision would protect parents who inadvertently have their guns with them when they pick up their children, says Republican Rep. Jim Lucas of Seymour.

Protesting the proposal with signs were the members of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
